Bout Time eh?

ALRIGHT! Let's get down to it. Time to update!

So, I haven't updated since last July (not counting the single quiz in semptember). Well first off, I'm 20 now. This happend in august. Kinda weird, but hey, not that much different.

So let's continue where I left off. Midterms ... they were a long time ago. I don't really remeber them all that much. However, finals, a few months after, I do remeber. I studied my ass of for them. It was actually really fun; Jamie, Will and I work really well together, and we all got extremely similar grades. Jamie pulled off a 8.0 average, I got 7.83, one grade under Jamie which I can actually sincerly blame on my sister's wedding (more on that later), and Will got ... I think 7.5, one under me. However, I get to gloat a bit because I was the only one without a B =P. But grades in that semester really don't matter. However, NEXT semester, they matter. This simply shows that we're all at the same level, and that we can get the grades. So this next semester, my goal is 8.0. And it's going to be tough.
Btw, for those who don't know the scale, it's as follows.
A+ (90 - 100) -> 9.0
A (85 - 90) -> 8.0
A- (80 - 85) -> 7.0
B+ (75 - 80) -> 6.0
B (70 - 75) -> 5.0
B- (65 - 70) -> 4.0
C+ (60 - 65) -> 3.0
C (55 - 60) -> 2.0
C- (50 - 55) -> 1.0

So, that brings me to the end of august. 2 days after my last exam comes the wedding! The reason that I blame my marks on the wedding is, the rehersal dinner was the same day that we could agrue marks on mech 242. I got an A- in the course, and I could have gotten an A, or mabey (not likely) an A+ if I could argue marks. Almost everyone went up a letter grade because of that day, but I missed it :(. Ah well, like I said, marks in 2nd year don't matter. But the wedding was gergous. Pictures will be online soon, I'll post a link. So now my little big sister is married. My new brothers awsome too! We've actually take to going to the gym recently. I got about 4 times a week now. I know, scary!

So now we've left august, and we're on to september. Job hunting ... it sucked. I finnaly got my dream job, being a lead mech desinger for AUVic. I don't get paid, but the experiance is funominal! And it's a lot of fun. Now, on to AUVic:

AUVic is an overlapping combination acronym initialism. It's good fun, stands for Atomimus-Underwater-Vehical-UVic. What we do is build a submarine that requires not pilot, not remote control, nothing. Just put it in the water and let it go. It has sonar (with 4 hydrophones), a pressure sensor, compass, two on board cameras and a DVL (doppler velocity log). It also has a sweet on board computer that takes all of this in and drives it'self. Well, actually no, but it will. We're still in the design stage. We hope to have the physical thing build by the new year, and the circutry installed by late February. The computer and all programming we want to have 80% done by april. The compitition (that's why we're doing this) is in August. I could go another 4 hours on this, but I won't.

So now, we're in mid october. My parents went on a cruise, and they're still not back yet. They're right now, just through the Panama Canal. I'm envious, but not that bad. I'm more envious of my friend Cambria taking flying lessons! (I need money!)

And late october, I find a place to live next semester. And last Saturday, I signed the last of the paper work for the place. I move in Dec 1st. It's a nice big 3 bedroom townhouse, 10 minute walk from UVic. Jamie Will and I (my study group) are sharing the place. We have to furnish it, but it's really nice.

And this brings me to two weeks ago. Playing hockey at the YMCA. I get checked while I have the ball (it's floor hockey so we use a ball and not a puck). It wasn't a hard, or illegal check at all, but it caused me to try and retain control, and in my haste, I stepped on the ball, rolling my ankle. I hit the ground, and I was done for the day. My ankle was find, but my foot hurt like crazy. So today, I finnaly go to the hospital to see if I broke the thing. And this is a landmark for me, I got to the hospital, get an X-ray ... and nothings broken! I've never had that happen before! It's just a bad sprain but it hurst to walk; I kinda have to hobble around.

Oh, and last week saturday, I went to Vancouver. It was awsome! Spent way too much money, but oh well. Showed my brother Science world, but now, it's been renamed to "Tellus World of Science". Kinda lame, but whatever. It's still really cool! After that, I walked around (on a bad foot, yes, I'm crazy) with Keera for about 3 hours. I hadn't seen her in 6 months before that. It was really great getting caught up again; probably the highlight of the trip for me. We got into some really great debates, man I miss those. However, I never got the chance to explain my theory of parralell probability to her, meh, some other times. I only mention that because it sparked from a book we both read.
After I hugged Keera g'bye, and made her promise to visit me soon, and bring Rob (her boyfriend), I met back up with my sister and brother. From there, we killed 45 minutes until the sushi resturaunt opened, and had all you can eat sushi! I love that place, Tanpopo, and I ate a lot. It was really fun. As a matter of fact, I'll type out exactly what the 3 of us ate:
2 Tamago
2 Tuna on Rice
2 Calfornia Cones
7 orders of Chicken Terriaki
10 orders of Prawn Tempura
4 orders of vegtable temura
5 Gyoza
5 Prawn Gyoza
2 Rainbow Rolls
3 Negitor Cone
4 Caifornia Rolls
3 Prawn and Vegtable Tempura
1 Prawn Tempura Rolls
15 Fresh Oysters
1 plate of Tuna Sushimi (15 pc)
3 Ebi
2 Tuna Rols
1 Ebi Sunimono Salid.

No bad eh?

Oh, and I just found one of my favorite comedians. Mr Steven Wright. He's extremely funny. His routines are just one liner jokes. Here's a sample: Steven Wright
My favorite one isn't there, which is "Black holes are when God divides by zero"

The only thing left to say is how crazy my next semester is going to be, which is LOTSA! 6 really hard courses. EVERY SINGLE DAY 8:30 - 4:30, with an hour break at lunch. Friday, I get a couple 1 hr gaps here and there, and the odd week, a couple days, I have the afternoon off. But for the most part, it's 7 of class a day. Monday is the worst, but it allways is. 8:30 - 1:00, then 1:30 - 4:30. But Tuesday, I have a 3 hour lecture 1:30 - 4:30. 3 HOURS IN THE SAME CLASSROOM. It's not a lab, it's a lecture. Oiy!

SO that's me. OH, and I got a cell phone, it's nifty ;)
